Junior school

Currently Claremont Special School has 6 classes in the junior school.  The curriculum is focused towards individual student needs and is based upon baseline data, prior learnings and observations.  Claremont Special School uses a variety of data tools to inform curriculum planning and include the Communication matrix, literacy continuum, RoleM assessments and profiles,  Balanced Literacy diagnostic tools, school based monitoring tools and therapy reports.  The curriculum planning and implementation is developed using the Australian Curriculum Learning Areas with reference to and inclusive of the General Capabilities.

Communication, receptive and expressive language development, perceptual motor skills, personal and social skills are key priorities addressed across the junior school.
