Vocational education


Students may be enrolled in one or more VET certificate courses  offered through the Special Education Training Alliance (SETA) and taught by VET trained school staff.  These courses are overseen and managed by SETA central RTO based at Western Suburbs Special School(RTO 41021). On successful completion of the course your child will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification.   If your child does not complete the full qualification they will receive a Statement of Attainment outlining the units that have been completed successfully.

  • FSK10113 - Certificate I Access to Vocational Pathways

  • AHC10210- Certificate 1 in Agrifoods Operations

  • ICT10115- Certificate 1 in Information, Digital Media and Technology

  • CHC14015 - Certificate I Active Volunteering

As part of these courses students in the senior school participate in internal school and external community work experience and in some cases paid certificate II traineeships. Employers supporting student work experience programs may include;

Students participating in community volunteering support, Meals on Wheels and Life Line and gain experience in giving back to the community as well as enhancing their skills in community experience, independent travel, environmental education.
