The text book and resource allowance is available to students attending Special Schools. This provides financial assistance to parents/carers to offset textbook and education resource costs. The allowance is paid by the Department of Education through the school. Parents will receive the allowance through participating in the school’s textbook and resource scheme. The P&C are consulted annually on the process the school plans to use to manage the textbook and resource allowance, and approves the booklist of materials and resources that the school will provide using the allowance. Parents are provided with written documentation at the commencement of each year outlining the scheme.
