New facilities 2018
At the commencement of 2018 new facilities opened which includes 9 new classrooms inclusive of a STEM room; a therapy room; new administration block; new carpark and bus and car drop off area. The new facilities provide purpose built classrooms and a wonderful addition to our school.
Outdoor Areas
Claremont Special School has a large quadrangle which is used for physical education activities and school celebrations.
The junior playground provides a stimulating environment to foster play and sensory-motor activities.
The sensory hub caters for students with sensory needs and is located next to the school hall. It was completed in 2016.
The lower middle Outdoor Learning Area was opened at the end of 2020. it provides and alternative, flexible space to encourage creativity and problem solving.
In the front of the school there is a ball court, middle school play structure with a focus on fitness, and large grassed area for group games and sports.
School nursery, Stephanie Alexander Program and Horticulture program
Claremont has a plant nursery located near the Rodney Street entrance to the school. The nursery is equipped with a covered teaching space, storage areas and green house. The nursery is a teaching space used within the Agrifoods, horticulture and Stephanie Alexander programs.
Classrooms
All classroom teaching and learning spaces at the school are equipped with interactive electronic white boards/TVs, hearing loops (M block), iPads and classroom computers.
