Currently 18 classrooms form the lower and upper middle school at Claremont Special School. Our school is driven by high expectations for our students and staff. We believe in the importance of daily literacy and numeracy blocks to focus on the basic skills necessary to become an active citizen.
Literacy and numeracy teaching and learning is supported by teachers implementing research based pedagogies in literacy, which is identified as a Balanced Literacy Approach, and a hands on approach to numeracy identified as RoleM Mathematics.
Claremont Special School implements the Australian Curriculum in English, mathematics, The Arts, technology, HASS, science, HPE and history.
Teachers in the middle school provide challenging, differentiated, fun and exciting learning experiences for all students across a variety of contexts.
